Please pay attention to the following:

Always open the canister from the side OPPOSITE to the one with the hydrophone.
The hydrophone is connected to the inner recorder and the cable/recorder could be damaged if opened unscrewing the cap with the hydrophone.

Use the orange lace to pull the inner cage and extract the recorder.
Keep in mind that the cage is connected to the hydrophone via a cable.

Be sure the orange lace is well set out of the threads before screwing the cap on

Set the recorder according to the manual. Please consider that MP3 recording is a lossy format and part of the frequencies will be lost if this format is selected.
Consider that the Zoom H1 recorder allows microSD up to 32GB as a general rule, but please check the compatibility, with a full recording cycle, before deploying.
PLEASE REMEMBER that the recorder must be TURNED ON and the RECORDING HAS TO BE STARTED MANUALLY before the deployment.

For data consistency you are advised to set a standard recording level ( 50 is a good level ), keeping the AUTO LEVEL switch OFF.
We normally suggest to also keep the LOw CUT switch ON.

The system used two AA batteries in parallel. PLEASE CHANGE BOTH BATTERIES before the deployment and USE BATTERIES FROM THE SAME PACK (SAME BRAND, SAME PRODUCTION BATCH).

The system is usually delivered with NON RECHARGEABLE AA LITHIUM BATTERIES.

Be sure you have inserted the inner cage well to the end.
The bottom of the cage must be a few millimeters under the threads.

Double check the O-Ring carefully.
It must be clean and must not be pinched anywhere.
Please check the corresponding cap part before closing the canister. It must be clean and dry.
You can add some desiccant, in the canister, placing the small packs near the recorder, under the elastic.
